Tell us about your work.
As a mechanic at Hamana Works, I do on-site maintenance and vehicle repairs, as well as occasional work on new cars.
What made you decide to join Hamana Works?
After graduating from a technical high school, I went to a junior college for auto repair and maintenance.
When I was thinking about finding a job, I realized I wanted to do something that I couldn't experience at a ordinary dealership.
That's when I came across Hamana Works.
What is your impression of Hamana Works after joining the company?
First of all, the factory is beautiful.
The maintenance building is still brand new, and I thought it was a great environment.
My senior colleagues are very friendly, and since many of them love motorcycles and cars, we can talk freely about our favorite cars and other interesting topics. I feel this is a company with an open, welcoming atmosphere.
What is important to you in your work?
It may sound obvious, but when it comes to repairing vehicles that carry important people and products, we place great importance on the reporting, communication and consultation process to ensure that mistakes and oversights don't occur.
What is your impression of your senior colleagues at work?
When there's something I don't understand, I ask not only people in my own section, but sometimes also seek advice from those in other sections in the Manufacturing Department. Although I don’t report directly to them, they always welcome me and take the time to thoroughly answer me. I really appreciate this.
What do you keep in mind when you train junior employees?
When I see junior colleagues at work and feel that they are in trouble, I don’t hesitate to ask if they are OK and help them if necessary.
What has made you especially happy in your work so far?
One thing that makes me happy is hearing "Thank you" directly from the customer when I visit them for unplanned or on-site repairs.
It's really wonderful to receive words of gratitude from our customers.
How do you spend your holidays?
On my days off, I tinker with my bike or with my car.
What I do at work and what I do at home isn't much different. (laughs) I like to tinker with vehicles.
Sometimes I even go touring with colleagues from the company.
My motorcycle doesn't get good gas mileage, and I worry it's annoying for the others, but nobody seems to mind, and they invite me to ride with them anyway. I really like my company and the people I work with.
What do you think is the most appealing and rewarding aspect of your work?
What I find most rewarding is when I see the vehicles I have repaired around town.
Nothing compares to that moment when you realize your work has helped someone else.
